Sumo Logic launches AI tools for dynamic observability
Sumo Logic announced advancements in dynamic observability by integrating artificial intelligence and logs within a unified user interface.
Sumo Logic Mo Copilot, the first AI Copilot for DevSecOps, will empower teams with faster response times for critical applications and is now generally available to all customers. In addition, Sumo Logic presented a prototype of the Generative Context Engine, which aims to provide a comprehensive source of truth and remediation recommendations, enhancing operational efficiency for developer, security, and IT operations teams.
Steve Stover, VP of Product Management and UX at Sumo Logic, remarked, "Developer, security, and IT operations teams are overwhelmed by the volume of data and complexities of keeping today's applications performing and secure. New levels of machine learning and Generative AI are required to process critical signals in the form of log data to drive insights and root cause to solve problems. We are excited to deliver the first AI Copilot for DevSecOps to our customers to help close the gap between data and actionable insights, reducing mean time to resolution and ensuring business-critical applications remain reliable and secure."
Stover further commented, "Meanwhile, we are also looking towards driving the future of observability. We believe this next era centres around dynamic observability where Generative AI can promote efficiencies and scalability for DevSecOps. Through our new Generative Context Engine, we're layering Generative AI over the entire set of telemetry - the most critical being structured and unstructured data, to help observability customers derive the fastest path from incident to root cause."
The Sumo Logic Mo Copilot is designed to assist DevSecOps teams by simplifying query creation, streamlining response processes for security and performance issues, and providing real-time log insights. The tool is built on Amazon Bedrock and integrates seamlessly into Sumo Logic's platform. It addresses the need for less experienced team members to make expert-level decisions and streamlines time-intensive processes.
Mihai Calota, Security Engineering Manager for Hello Fresh, praised the new feature, stating, "The new Copilot feature is a game-changer for our team. Our junior team members are able to contribute to incident resolution without having to escalate, and more experienced professionals are less burdened by time spent helping with detection and response. The ability to use plain English to query makes Sumo Logic's platform even more useful so we can get the most from our log data."
Applications today are increasingly complex, with evolving microservices and code. To address these challenges, Sumo Logic unveiled its Dynamic Observability prototype. This solution uses structured and unstructured log analytics to provide an operational context, recommending root causes and solutions for common issues in performance, reliability, and security.
Sumo Logic's new unified interface further facilitates collaboration and issue resolution across teams through comprehensive log data views and efficient navigation features. This interface aims to simplify the sharing of queries and dashboards, thus enhancing cross-team collaboration.
