ST Engineering unveils new advanced security platform
Wed, 17th Jan 2024

ST Engineering has announced that its Urban Solutions business has launched its next-generation AGIL Secure Integrated Security Management Platform (AGIL Secure) at the Dhoho Kediri International Airport in Indonesia. This marks a significant advance in airport security. The solution, delivered in collaboration with partner PT. Sinergi Teknoglobal Perkasa, provides a comprehensive, real-time overview of all security operations and functions across the airport and its associated buildings which ensures an improved level of safety for travellers.

Constructed using finest security standards and protocols, AGIL Secure stands apart through its advanced command and control platform that offers an integrated and unified operator experience. The vendor-neutral and database-agnostic platform flawlessly combines various security subsystems, such as identity management, access control, video and analytics, intrusion detection, and physical security. The functionalities include automated incident response, compliance management, analytics, and reporting on a single interface. This cloud-native, modular, and scalable platform can work with advanced security technologies as well as with legacy systems, which notably reduces the deployment time and costs. With an extensive library of microservices, AGIL Secure can also meet different requirements, shifting easily to an on-premise solution from a cloud-native application.

Tay Wei Li, Vice President and Head of Global Sales and Business Development, Smart Security and Automation at ST Engineering, asserted their solutions' edge. Our next-generation AGIL Secure solution caters to the key limitations in current security platforms like integration complexity, proprietary subsystem restrictions, and inflexible workflow management. It merges scalable critical infrastructure protection with cost-effectiveness and ease of use for security operators and service providers,” Wei Li stated. “This deployment at Dhoho Kediri International Airport is AGIL Secure's first international airport expedition and mirrors our partners' faith in our capabilities and expertise in large-scale and complex integration. We anticipate a successful commitment with PT. Sinergi Teknoglobal Perkasa, and to extend AGIL Secure to new applications and markets."

Andi Sjachrial, Director, PT. Sinergi Teknoglobal Perkasa, expressed the utility of AGIL Secure for the airport. It helps the airport integrate multiple security subsystems on one comprehensive platform with a visualisation dashboard for seamless operations and incident management. This overall situational awareness leads to better decision making and enhances operational efficiency and resource management, enabling faster responses from on-site personnel.

The first privately developed airport in the country, Dhoho Kediri International Airport is positioned to become a new gateway to East Java, Indonesia. Located 150 kilometres south-west of Surabaya, the airfield and associated buildings span over 330 hectares. The airport aims to enhance connectivity and boost the economy of the southern part of the East Java province as well as supplement the operations of Juanda International Airport, with operations starting in 2024.

ST Engineering's Urban Solutions business, already experienced in deploying government-grade access control technologies, has implemented security solutions in more than 150 cities. These have secured mission-critical activities for governments and enterprises, secured over 10,000 physical access points for over a million people, and engineered 250 million frictionless interactions annually.
