NESIC partners with Cloudbrink for improved network access

Today

NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation (NESIC) has chosen Cloudbrink's Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) to underpin its Virtual Trusted Overlay Network.

The Virtual Trusted Overlay Network, designed by NESIC, leverages Cloudbrink's ultra-low-latency global edge mesh to facilitate high-performance zero-trust networking. It integrates additional services, including end-point security and identity management, creating a comprehensive managed service.

NESIC selected Cloudbrink's technology based on its performance, built-in security, ease of deployment, and management, as well as the companies' collaborative approach to developing the new service offering.

Osamu Kikuchi, Senior Vice President of NESIC, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "Our partnership with Cloudbrink began over a year ago, and we have successfully introduced their award-winning service to businesses in the Japanese market. With this new game-changing service, we look forward to disrupting the traditional enterprise networking and security architecture to deliver enhanced security, simplicity and speed to our global customers and partners."

Central to the Virtual Trusted Overlay Network is its capacity to provide ultra-high performance secure network access. Independent testing has confirmed Cloudbrink's claims of increasing application speeds by up to 30 times for mobile and remote users on standard consumer broadband and wireless connections, without the necessity for additional hardware investment.

The service utilises a global network of virtual points of presence (PoPs) called FAST edges. These leverage artificial intelligence to rapidly identify the nearest access point, which is generally less than 10 milliseconds away.

Prakash Mana, CEO of Cloudbrink, commented on the initiative by saying, "We feel honored to play a significant role in the Virtual Trusted Overlay Network initiative. NEC has been an outstanding partner and we share the same vision of making SASE work for everyone — less to manage for the network and security teams, a better experience for end users, and better value for the enterprise."

NESIC is a part of the NEC Corporation, a prominent provider of cloud computing and network services based in Japan. The company entered into a reselling partnership with Cloudbrink in early 2023, eventually becoming a design partner for the development of the Virtual Trusted Overlay Network. Starting January 2025, NESIC will provide services grounded in this network through its Symphonict cloud service infrastructure.
