MocaProof beta brings gamified Web3 identity to testnet

Tue, 6th Jan 2026

Moca Network has commenced beta testing MocaProof, a new digital identity verification and rewards platform designed to bridge the gap between Web3 users and decentralised projects. The company is developing MocaProof as part of its wider effort to build a distributed identity network that works across different blockchains. The beta version of the platform is currently live on the Moca Chain testnet. While the current focus remains on refining the technology within the test environment, a full mainnet launch is scheduled for 2026.

Web3 identity focus

MocaProof functions as a gamified identity system. Users build a profile of verifiable achievements and credentials across Web3 environments. Projects can use this profile data to recognise users and structure communities around reputational signals.

The platform supports verification of credentials that relate to ownership, participation and qualifications. It covers both on-chain and off-chain ecosystems. Users can prove attributes without handing over raw data or personally identifiable information. Moca Network positions this approach as privacy-preserving. It uses zero-knowledge proof techniques so that a user can confirm a statement about their data without revealing the underlying data itself.

MocaProof connects with the company's AIR Kit and Moca Chain infrastructure. The integration allows identity data to be reused across different platforms within the network. The system supports what the company describes as interoperable and verifiable identity data.

The service links decentralised data storage with an identity layer. It also supports on-chain monetisation features and a single sign-on function across connected applications.

"MocaProof establishes a foundation for verifiable, privacy-preserving digital identity, allowing users and enterprises to participate in credential-based ecosystems without compromising data ownership or compliance standards. MocaProof is where identity is created and reputation is accrued, enabling composable reward distribution through verified credentials," said Kenneth Shek, Project Lead, Moca Network.

Credential marketplace

MocaProof includes a credential proof marketplace. Users can browse and verify different types of credential that relate to influence, finance, loyalty and activity.

All credentials listed within the marketplace are issued by verified partners and validated using zero-knowledge proofs. According to Moca Network, this approach ensures the integrity of the underlying data while maintaining full compatability with external systems. By utilising this cryptographic method, the platfrom can verify user achievements and identities without exposing sensitive personal information.

The marketplace structure allows projects to define credential-based participation criteria. It also offers a route for partners to distribute recognition and access based on verifiable user history rather than anonymous wallet addresses.

Virtual companion

The platform introduces a character called Mocat as a visual device for identity and reputation. Mocat is a virtual companion within the wider Mocaverse environment.

Each user receives a Mocat that reflects the credentials they verify through MocaProof. As users add more verified credentials, their Mocat evolves. It gains new traits that signal both the growth of the user's profile and the rarity of the underlying data.

The evolution of a Mocat links directly with reward access. Users with more advanced or rarer Mocat traits can unlock additional benefits. The company connects this structure with the broader engagement and loyalty strategy around its network.

Rewards and tokens

MocaProof will link identity verification with a structured incentive system. The company plans to introduce an incentive framework from the official launch.

Users who complete credential checks through the platform will be able to claim several types of reward. These will include the network's MOCA Coin utility and governance token. Users will also be able to receive token airdrops from Moca Network partners.

The incentive system will include AIR SP loyalty points. These points are backed by stablecoins and can be spent in AIR Shop, which Moca Network describes as its verifiable loyalty platform.

The beta launch on Moca Chain testnet coincides with a month-long campaign that focuses on NFT-related credentials. The campaign includes an NFT competition. It offers a reward pool valued at USD $50,000.

Network ambitions

Moca Network is building a decentralised identity network that is chain-agnostic. The company is investing in infrastructure that supports private identity verifications and data interoperability across industries and ecosystems.

The network sits inside the Animoca Brands portfolio. It links more than 600 portfolio companies and a base of over 700 million addressable users. It also connects a range of enterprise partners that participate in shared identity and loyalty programmes.

MOCA Coin functions as the network's utility and governance token. It underpins interactions across the identity and rewards systems Moca Network is assembling.

The company expects the current testnet phase for MocaProof to feed into the planned transition to Moca Chain mainnet in 2026. The mainnet launch will mark the point at which users can access rewards through the full incentive framework tied to verifiable credentials.
