Gartner names Bitglass a leader in cloud security

06 Nov 2018

Bitglass has been named a Leader in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for cloud access security brokers.

In this second annual report, Gartner evaluated 13 vendors on 15 different criteria.

Bitglass was evaluated based on its ability to execute and its completeness of vision.

Bitglass’ agentless architecture deploys rapidly and delivers real-time, end-to-end data protection for any application, any device, anywhere.

The Bitglass solution offers comprehensive data and threat protection for a wide range of applications, including managed apps like Office 365, IaaS platforms like AWS, and unmanaged apps like personal Dropbox and social media.

Bitglass CMO Rich Campagna says, “Bitglass is delighted to be named as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers.

According to Gartner, “by 2022, 60% of large enterprises will use a CASB to govern cloud services, up from less than 20% today.”

As more enterprises adopt cloud-based tools, Bitglass is in a position to offer the data protection that they need – without imposing unnecessary hurdles or restricting data access for authorised personnel.

Earlier this year, Bitglass announced partnerships with Okta and Brace168 to expand its capabilities in data protection and cloud-based identity management.

Okta and Bitglass’s combined solution brought delivered capabilities such as single sign-on (SSO) for both protected apps, as well as any application that supports SAML for SSO, Active Directory synchronisation and authentication, and adaptive multi-factor authentication (AMFA).

The partnership with Brace168 increased Bitglass’ compliance capabilities with the inclusion of Brace168’s B-Protected threat protection service suite in the Bitglass CASB.
