Zyxel firewall wins Taiwan Excellence Award 2026
Zyxel Networks has received a Taiwan Excellence Award 2026 for its USG FLEX 50HP firewall, adding a fresh accolade to the Taiwanese networking vendor's growing list of international honours.
The recognition for the USG FLEX 50HP takes the wider Zyxel Group's tally of Taiwan Excellence awards to more than 100. The award scheme, run by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, assessed nearly 1,000 entries this year and granted 336 awards based on research and development, design, quality and marketing performance.
The Taiwan Excellence jury cited innovation as a core criterion. Organisers position the award as a mark for products that demonstrate new value in competitive technology markets.
Hybrid security focus
Zyxel has positioned the USG FLEX 50HP as a firewall for organisations that run both on-premises and cloud-based security infrastructure. The product targets small and medium-sized businesses and managed service providers that manage distributed environments and mixed deployment models.
The company said most hybrid firewalls handle cloud and on-premises protections as separate domains. The USG FLEX 50HP links both through a unified management model. It relies on what Zyxel describes as its Smart Sync feature.
Smart Sync synchronises security policies across cloud and on-site systems. It also aligns network objects and high availability settings across those environments. Zyxel said this design supports consistent protections and reduces the overhead of managing multiple security consoles.
The firewall incorporates a wide range of security functions. Zyxel stated that these address the growth in cyber threats that affect smaller organisations as well as large enterprises. The company also emphasised the product's pricing, which it said keeps advanced threat protection within reach of SMBs and service providers that work with limited budgets.
Global recognition
The Taiwan Excellence award follows a series of international endorsements for Zyxel's security portfolio. In the UK, technology magazine PC Pro named the USG FLEX 50HP as Security Hardware of the Year in its Excellence Awards 2025. The recognition highlighted growing awareness of the device among channel partners and end users in Europe.
In Germany, Zyxel received favourable ratings in the Techconsult Professional User Rating survey 2026. Thousands of professional users rated the company as Champion in both the Network Firewall and VPN categories. The research focuses on user satisfaction and market perception across multiple security vendors.
The US-based Tolly Group has also assessed Zyxel's USG FLEX H series through third-party testing. Zyxel said the series outperformed rival products in those evaluations. The company added that the results reinforced its standing among IT professionals who select and run firewalls in production environments.
Against that backdrop, Zyxel framed the Taiwan Excellence award as part of a broader pattern of recognition from technical evaluators and industry users.
"The USG FLEX 50HP firewall is a testament to our dedication to delivering advanced and accessible security solutions," said Mr. Gary Chen, ANZ regional head at Zyxel Networks. "This Taiwan Excellence Award, alongside other recent honors, validates our efforts to empower SMBs and MSPs globally with robust, user-friendly, and cost-effective protection against evolving cyber threats."
Security community links
Zyxel has also deepened its involvement in the incident response community. The Zyxel Group recently joined the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, known as FIRST. The company said it is the first member of Taiwan's networking industry to enter the international consortium.
FIRST connects incident response and security teams around the world. Its members share information on vulnerabilities, attacks and defensive techniques. Membership gives vendors a channel for collaboration on new threat patterns and security incidents.
Zyxel said its participation in FIRST aligns with its long-term focus on network security. The group runs in-house research and development across home networking, switching, wireless LAN and security products. It also supplies services that support subscription-based models across these portfolios.
The Taiwan-headquartered vendor has operated for more than three decades and reports that it serves over 1 million business customers in 150 markets. It ranks among Best Taiwan Global Brands and sits within the top five suppliers to the SMB networking segment in EMEA and worldwide, according to its own assessments.
The USG FLEX 50HP now joins a broad range of Zyxel products that carry the Taiwan Excellence mark, as the company pursues further awards and technical evaluations for its security and networking lines.
