WSO2 rolls out Identity Server 7.0 with advanced features
WSO2, a trusted open-source identity and access management (IAM) solution provider, has launched WSO2 Identity Server 7.0. This latest version has adopted a robust range of features and tools to enhance developer productivity as well as increasing B2B CIAM support and providing financial-grade API security. The company highlighted that businesses are now competing based on the superior digital experiences they offer, and their latest product launch bolsters this capacity.
Geethika Cooray, vice president and general manager of identity and access management at WSO2, stated, "Organizations delivering digital experiences need an IAM solution that enables developers to readily adapt to the evolving needs of the business, customers and partners. Our secret sauce has always been to provide developers an awesome experience that maximizes their productivity and flexibility, and WSO2 Identity Server 7.0 takes that to a whole new level."
In an industry first, WSO2 Identity Server 7.0 brings the same code base and modern user interface (UI) to WSO2's widely adopted IAM software, WSO2 Private Identity Cloud, and Asgardeo, WSO2's identity as a service (IDaaS) solution. This new release incorporates a bevy of features that aim to optimize developer productivity. These include a new authentication API for app-native, browser-less authentication, side-by-side graphical and code views via a new visual editor, and one-click access to application templates and authentication methods.
WSO2 Identity Server 7.0 now offers comprehensive support for business-to-business (B2B) functionality and financial-grade API security. This extends its capabilities well beyond its existing B2C customer IAM (CIAM) and workforce IAM capabilities, surpassing the limited organization management of other IAM products to offer the industry's most comprehensive B2B CIAM support. This includes capabilities to easily onboard enterprise customers, delegate administration, manage complex organization hierarchies, and support an enterprise customer's entire B2B app portfolio.
A suite of enhanced financial-grade API security features also marks this latest release of WSO2 Identity Server. These include compliance with FAPI 1.0 Baseline and Advanced profiles, extended OAuth 2.0 Support, as well as Enhanced Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for API Authorization. Additionally, WSO2 Identity Server has achieved the FIPS 140-2 Certification, validating its compliance with the Federal Information Processing Standard's stringent criteria for secure design and implementation of a cryptographic module.
The 7.0 version of WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 Private Identity Cloud, and Asgardeo IDaaS provide a unified IAM experience. WSO2 customers can now seamlessly migrate between cloud and on-premises deployments as needed or even maintain hybrid environments, all the while delivering a best-in-class user experience (UX) for developers, consumers, and other users. This flexibility derives from the shared code, which also means improved developer productivity, financial-grade API security, and B2B CIAM features are available across WSO2's IAM cloud offerings.
Effective immediately, these novel capabilities and full features of the unified IAM experience of the WSO2 Identity Server 7.0 are accessible through the latest offerings of Asgardeo and WSO2 Private Identity Cloud. Technology professionals and developers are free to download these updated versions and familiarize themselves with the enhanced experience provided.
