Veeam launches cyber readiness programme amidst rising cyberattacks
Thu, 1st Feb 2024

Veeam Software, a market leader in data protection and ransomware recovery, has announced the availability of its new cyber readiness initiative, the Veeam Cyber Secure Program. This comprehensive cyber protection and support program aims at strengthening pre and post-incident support through proactive planning, regular security assessments and a dedicated Support Account Manager along with a Ransomware Response Team to secure rapid recovery.

As cyberattacks surge in frequency and intensity worldwide, the new program aims to safeguard customers by equipping them with tools they need for cyber incidents. John Jester, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Veeam, shed light on the critical role recovery plays in a company's cybersecurity strategy. "We know that 76% of organisations were attacked at least once in the past 12 months, and 26% of those reported being attacked at least four times. Recovery is still a major concern, as only 13% believe they can successfully recover," he said. "The new Veeam Cyber Secure Program is designed to ensure customers follow data protection best practices with Veeam solutions, enabling them to bounce forward from an outage or data loss."

Notably, the Veeam Cyber Secure Program comprises three primary components - Confident Security, Comprehensive Support During Cyber Incident, and Financial Protection. Customers receive advanced seven-phase onboarding support and rigorous quarterly security assessments conducted by Veeam experts. During a cyber incident, the Veeam Ransomware Response Team, which operates 24/7, springs into immediate action, guaranteeing prioritised 30-minute service level agreements. The program also offers a Veeam Ransomware Recovery Warranty, providing up to $5 million USD in data recovery expense reimbursement for a verified attack.

In the era of rising cybersecurity threats, enterprises continue to trust Veeam for its cyber resilience and ransomware protection capabilities. Testament to Veeam's reputation is its acquisition of over 4,600 new enterprise customers in 2023, contributing to the company reaching an annual recurring revenue of more than $1B for the fifth consecutive year, spanning from 2019 to 2023.

Experts in the cybersecurity field appreciate Veeam's contribution. As Christophe Bertrand, Practice Director at Enterprise Strategy Group, points out, "In this heightened risk context, the multi-pronged program Veeam is championing is not only timely but necessary. The comprehensive onboarding support and regular thorough security assessments provide a strong foundation and best practices, while the world-class support in times of crisis and a financial protection component round up a very complete initiative that should get a lot of market attention."
