Tenable launches advanced solution for highly secure systems

Thu, 19th Sep 2024

Leading cybersecurity vendor Tenable has introduced Tenable Enclave Security, aimed at addressing the needs of highly secure environments such as air-gapped and classified systems. This product aims to assist both public sector and commercial organisations in identifying and managing security risks associated with IT assets and containers.

Tenable Enclave Security offers a range of features designed to meet stringent security and data residency requirements, such as FedRAMP High and Impact Level 5. The solution allows for the discovery, assessment, and analysis of vulnerabilities in IT assets and container images to prevent breaches before they can cause harm to organisations.

Robert Huber, Chief Security Officer and President of Tenable Public Sector, highlighted the importance of the new solution. "As a leader in vulnerability management and cloud security and a longtime partner of governments all around the world, we're perfectly positioned to tap into our expertise and deliver mission-critical capabilities to assist government agencies as they transform their IT strategy and safely embrace modern workloads to speed innovation," Huber said. He further explained, "With Tenable Enclave Security, agencies are now able to gain a fuller understanding of their exposure and risk with the ability to continuously discover, assess, and prioritise vulnerabilities across IT assets and container images, all from a single, highly secure framework."

The introduction of Tenable Enclave Security comes at a critical time when federal agencies face unique security and compliance regulations in their cloud deployments. This solution is designed to support such stringent requirements and ensure a high level of security and efficiency. The platform aims to centralise IT and workload security into one streamlined deployment, reducing the complexity and cost often associated with multiple fragmented tools.

Tenable Enclave Security will enable organisations to meet various cloud security and data residency restrictions. According to Huber, "The solution can meet customers' needs wherever they reside, with the ability to be deployed on-premises, in a virtual private cloud or commercial cloud." This flexibility ensures that organisations can maintain compliance and security no matter their infrastructure setup.

The platform also focuses on securing containers before they enter production. Containers are increasingly being used to modernise infrastructure, and Tenable Enclave Security will assess the risk in container images, expose vulnerabilities, and understand their broader impact, which is essential for agencies looking to efficiently create and modernise applications.

In addition to these features, the new solution aims to provide a consolidated approach to security tools. This centralisation helps eliminate tool sprawl, thus reducing costs and boosting efficiency. It ensures that IT assets and modern workloads are protected from a single deployment architecture, contrary to the fragmented visibility often seen with siloed solutions.

With the launch of Tenable Enclave Security, Tenable has bolstered its portfolio to offer robust solutions tailored to both public sector and commercial organisations operating in highly secure environments. The platform's ability to provide comprehensive security management from a single, highly secure framework positions it as a valuable tool in the ongoing battle against cyber threats.
