TELUS unveils AI-driven email protection with 99.7% catch rate

TELUS has launched an API-based email protection service that reports a 99.7% phishing catch rate and comprehensive defence for email and collaboration platforms.

The solution, TELUS Email Protection Service Advanced, is powered by Check Point's Harmony Email & Collaboration technology and is now available to TELUS customers. According to TELUS, the service offers a significant advancement beyond traditional email security solutions by preventing threats from reaching users' inboxes, instead of scanning emails after delivery.

Email continues to be a common vector for cyberattacks against organisations. TELUS states that its new offering addresses these concerns with comprehensive coverage including major cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools.

TELUS reports that unlike conventional defences, which typically examine emails after they reach the inbox, their new solution uses patented low-latency technology to scan and block malicious content before it can be accessed by the user.
