Telstra, Innovix among Fortinet APAC partner winners

Telstra Business Technology Services has taken out Fortinet’s top Asia Pacific award for Enhanced Technology Partner of the Year at the vendor's 2016 Part of the Year awards held in Las Vegas.

Innovix, Syscom Computer Engineering and MEC also claimed APAC awards at the event, which recognises outstanding cybersecurity sales, customer experiences, collaboration and marketing achievements.

Syscom Computer Engineering from Taiwan claimed the Partner of the Year award for APAC, with Otsuka winning the award for Japan.

Hong Kong-based Innovix Distribution was named APAC Distribution Partner of the Year, alongside Ingram Micro, who claimed the title for the United States and Canada region, Westcon, taking out LATAM and  Exclusive Network Group for EMEA. SCSK took out the Japan Distribution of the Year award.

Philippines-based MEC took out Growth Partner of the Year for APAC while the growth partner for Japan was SoftBank Commerce and Service Gropu.

Hitachi Systems claimed the Japan award for Enhanced Technology Partner of the Year.

Ben Field, Fortinet Australia country manager, says it was fantastic to see an Australian partner recognised in the prestigious global awards.

“Telstra Business Technology Services and our partner community more broadly form a crucial part of the Fortinet business locally,” Field says.

“We rely on our partners to work with us to help Australian businesses defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber criminals.”

Michael Burt, general manager Telstra Global Enterprise Services at Telstra Global Enterprise Services, says the Fortinet relationship, and the vendor’s breadth of solutions, are critical for the company’s business, given its focus on design, implementation and management of network security and cloud protection solutions.

“Fortinet is unique in its offering of a powerful end-to-end security fabric to provide defence across the entire network,” Burt says.

Finland’s Santa Monica Network Oy was named Fortinet’s 2016 FortiHero Global Partner of the Year.
