Tech Mahindra & Rubrik launch AI-led cyber recovery
Tech Mahindra has partnered with Rubrik to launch a joint Cyber Recovery as a Service (CRaaS) offering aimed at speeding recovery after cyber incidents, including ransomware attacks.
The service combines Tech Mahindra's cybersecurity services with Rubrik's data security platform and is designed for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It applies AI to cyber recovery workflows and data resilience processes.
Recovery focus
Many organisations have invested in detection and response tools, but recovery often remains a weak point after an attack, particularly when system and data integrity are uncertain. The new service focuses on restoring "clean" data and bringing critical operations back online with greater confidence.
The partners say customers can expect assured data integrity, reduced downtime, and a unified recovery framework. The offering is positioned for business continuity planning during advanced ransomware incidents, where attackers increasingly try to disrupt restoration processes as well as encrypt data.
Cyber recovery services have gained attention as insurers, regulators, and boards place more emphasis on resilience metrics. Enterprises are also under pressure to prove they can restore critical systems within defined timeframes, expanding demand for managed recovery services alongside incident response retainers and security operations contracts.
What it includes
The joint service is designed to scale across environments that combine on-premises infrastructure with cloud services. Tech Mahindra will provide delivery and operational expertise through its cybersecurity services practice, while Rubrik supplies the data protection and recovery platform.
Rubrik positions its platform around securing backup data from tampering, speeding recovery after cyber threats and operational disruptions, and using AI in security operations.
Tech Mahindra is a consulting and services provider with a global delivery footprint and a security services business spanning infrastructure, networks, and cloud operations.
Saket Singh, Business Head - Cloud, Infrastructure, Network and Security Services at Tech Mahindra, said: "Enterprises today are investing heavily in cyber detection capabilities, yet a critical gap remains: the ability to rapidly recover clean, uncompromised data after ransomware attacks. Many organizations struggle to restore operations with confidence, leading to prolonged downtime and business disruption. By combining Rubrik's AI-driven and data resilience capabilities with Tech Mahindra's end-to-end cyber security capabilities, we are enabling organizations to recover with certainty, reduce downtime, and protect business continuity in an increasingly hostile digital environment."
Market context
Ransomware groups have evolved in recent years. Many now steal data and apply extortion pressure, rather than relying only on encryption. Attackers have also targeted identity systems and administrative tools, making recovery harder because compromised credentials can be used to interfere with restoration efforts and maintain persistence.
The partners cited identity-based threats alongside ransomware as key drivers for more structured recovery services. Alok Agrawal, Chief Solutions Officer at Rubrik, said: "The escalating frequency of identity-based threats and ransomware attacks has made it clear: cyber resilience is now the ultimate differentiator between business catastrophe and business continuity. We are proud to launch this CRaaS offering alongside Tech Mahindra to empower global organizations with streamlined recovery and business continuity."
Rubrik reports more than 6,600 customer organisations worldwide and has cited recognition in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions for two consecutive years. Tech Mahindra says it employs more than 149,000 professionals across more than 90 countries and works with more than 1,100 clients.
The partnership sets out a joint route to market for recovery and resilience services, expanding visibility for Tech Mahindra's cybersecurity portfolio and widening go-to-market opportunities. The offering will be available to global enterprises seeking managed cyber recovery across hybrid and multi-cloud estates.
