SolidBlue & Xenith IG boost BeFa digital connectivity

SolidBlue and Xenith IG have formed a partnership to expand digital connectivity at the BeFa Industrial Estate in Bekasi, Indonesia, in support of an AI-ready industrial estate.

The arrangement is intended to strengthen digital infrastructure within the estate and broaden connectivity access along the Jakarta-Cikampek corridor. SolidBlue is acting through PT Kawasan Lintas Biru Digital, while Xenith IG is participating through PT Xenith IG Indonesia Network.

BeFa has been positioning its Bekasi site in West Java to attract technology-led industries that need more than traditional industrial estate services such as land, electricity, water and logistics links. The estate is also developing BeFa Digital Town, a dedicated investment area tied to AI, cloud services, data centres and digital manufacturing.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in industrial property requirements, as tenants seek stronger communications infrastructure to support automation, connected devices and data-intensive workloads. Industrial estate operators are under pressure to show that their digital networks can match the reliability expected of conventional utilities.

Under the arrangement, SolidBlue will continue building the estate's internal digital network, while Xenith IG will connect the site to a wider fibre network serving strategic industrial and digital infrastructure routes. Tenants will gain access to Xenith IG's metro dark fibre network, which extends more than 650km.

That network runs through key parts of the Jakarta market and is intended to provide route diversity for customers that need resilient links. Demand is coming from sectors including AI, cloud computing, data centres, the internet of things and advanced manufacturing.

Tenant demand

BeFa's management said the main concern for incoming investors is whether critical infrastructure can be delivered to the required standard and on schedule.

"For investors, what matters most is the certainty that their infrastructure requirements can be met to the required quality standards and within the expected timeframe. Through this collaboration, BeFa ensures the integrated readiness of power, connectivity, water, and other supporting infrastructure. For us, being AI-ready means providing tenants with that certainty from day one of their investment," said Leo Yulianto Sutedja, President Director, BeFa.

His comments highlight broader competition among industrial estates in Indonesia and elsewhere in South-East Asia as they seek to attract manufacturers and digital operators with increasingly demanding technical needs. Access to fibre, low-latency routes and proximity to data centre clusters are becoming part of the pitch alongside transport links and basic utilities.

SolidBlue said the agreement goes beyond estate-level connectivity by linking BeFa to larger digital corridors used by industrial and data centre customers. The company describes itself as a fibre connectivity provider for Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate and other industrial estates across Indonesia.

Regional network

Xenith IG operates metro dark fibre networks across seven Asia-Pacific markets, including Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. The company focuses on dark fibre infrastructure and counts hyperscalers, cloud providers, data centre operators, enterprises and governments among its target customers.

Its role at BeFa will include designing and deploying fibre optic infrastructure within the industrial estate, as well as providing external network access. That approach is intended to give tenants direct links to digital infrastructure hubs along the Jakarta-Cikampek corridor, an area that has become increasingly important for logistics, industry and data centre development.

The partnership is intended to make the estate more attractive to tenants that need integrated access to industrial land and digital infrastructure, with connectivity treated as a core part of site selection rather than an afterthought.
