Semperis launches Lightning Intelligence for cyber security

Semperis has announced the launch of Lightning Intelligence, a security posture assessment tool incorporated into its Lightning platform.

The new offering is designed to track security posture across multi-forest Active Directory (AD) and multi-tenant Entra ID environments. By providing security trend reports, it aims to save time and reduce the risk of identity-related attacks, which reportedly account for 90% of cyber incidents.

Lightning Intelligence offers easy deployment and automated scanning, a feature frequently requested by small and mid-sized businesses, particularly users of Semperis' community tool, Purple Knight, downloaded by over 30,000 organisations. The tool is the second offering in Semperis' broader Lightning threat detection and response platform, providing a dashboard that displays clear security posture scores, expediting remediation efforts for IT and security teams that may be limited in resources.

The platform provides a dashboard showcasing both multi-forest AD and multi-tenant Entra ID security postures, offering seamless visibility across complex identity environments which may be prevalent in larger organisations. This is complemented by scheduled and on-demand scanning for indicators of exposure (IOEs) and constantly updated security indicators established by Semperis' security research team.

Lightning Intelligence scans the environment and presents security scores for each forest or tenant, aiming to speed up remediation processes and minimise the potential downtime resulting from attacks.

The tool is part of the Semperis Lightning platform, which aims to provide comprehensive cyber resilience for identity-based security posture, incorporating elements such as ITDR, change auditing, and forensics. Designed for straightforward deployment, it covers both single-forest environments and the most intricate setups, continuing to update and enhance to address the changing threat landscape.
