SailPoint reveals Cloud updates for identity security boost
SailPoint has announced updates to its Identity Security Cloud and introduced new customer success service packages aimed at enhancing identity management and security.
These updates include enhancements in several key areas such as Machine Identity Security, Data Access Security, as well as application onboarding and connectivity to improve identity infrastructures for enterprises.
Matt Mills, President of SailPoint, stated, "As organisations navigate the escalating complexity of managing identities and securing data, these updates demonstrate SailPoint's unwavering commitment to addressing the future of identity challenges. We are dedicated to delivering solutions that enhance comprehensive identity security, and empower our customers to build resilient, scalable, and secure identity infrastructures."
SailPoint's recent reports indicate that machine identity growth could surpass human identity growth within the next five years. Responding to this, the company has introduced the AI Machine Identity Discovery capability under its Machine Identity Security platform. This new feature automatically identifies machine accounts by scanning key applications and provides daily visibility and insights. According to SailPoint, this is designed to address security risks stemming from a lack of visibility into machine identities. AI Machine Identity Discovery will be available from 18 April.
Further enhancements to Machine Identity Security include the Machine Account Migration feature, which facilitates the transition of machine accounts from Non-Employee Risk Management to governance under the Machine Identity Security framework. Customers can access this feature immediately.
Data Access Security sees new advancements in the form of Automated Data Ownership Election. This functionality assists in identifying candidates for data ownership, enabling administrators to assign data owners effectively based on usage patterns. This feature, aimed at increasing operational efficiency, will be generally available from 15 April.
SailPoint has also extended its data access monitoring capabilities to support frequently used network-attached storage solutions, including Dell EMC Isilon, EMC Unity, and NetApp, with this capability now accessible to customers.
Within the Access Intelligence Centre, Data Access Security users can now utilise enhanced insights and data intelligence for cross-platform risk analysis, a feature that is currently available.
The company has refined its application onboarding processes through AI-powered automation, enabling faster and effective management of SaaS applications. New updates support platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID and PingOne, enhancing application discovery. Customisation options for default application thresholds are now available to provide users with additional AI-driven recommendations.
In terms of connectivity, SailPoint has introduced a direct integration with SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance. This addition facilitates preventative separation of duties checks and efficient access provisioning within SAP environments, allowing a streamlined use of SailPoint for access requests across SAP components.
SailPoint's Success Acceleration Service Packages mark the latest development in its customer support strategy. These packages offer tailored services, professional training, and customer support, with an emphasis on improving identity security investments, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
The initiatives laid out by SailPoint indicate a robust approach towards addressing complex identity security challenges, providing solutions designed to manage the growing demands in data and identity landscapes faced by enterprises today.
