Rapid7 launches Managed Digital Risk Protection service
Wed, 7th Feb 2024

Rapid7, well known for its superior performance in extended risk and threat detection, has announced the launch of its new Managed Digital Risk Protection (DRP) service. The service, an innovative development in external threat monitoring and remediation, seeks to neutralise cyber threats at an earlier stage in the threat life cycle. Customers who utilise this product in combination with Rapid7's leading Managed Threat Complete offer will realise expanded visibility and enhanced support across all internal and external attack surfaces.

The Managed DRP service indicates a significant development for the cyber security community, as Rapid7 will now actively monitor a range of online landscapes such as the clear, deep, and dark web, identifying early threat signals, including potential data exploitation, data leakage, and fraudulent activities. Beyond this, Rapid7 will monitor for any customer data or files that may have been exposed during a previous attack, which importantly allows for rapid identification and resolution of potential ransomware exposure.

Jeremiah Dewey, Rapid7's Senior Vice President of Managed Services, believes that "Rapid7 is changing the game in managed security." He sees the implementation of digital risk protection within Managed Threat Complete as a significant step forward, noting, "It gives our experts a broadened view into customers’ environments, and timely, relevant insights. This, in turn, allows us to proactively uncover the earliest stages of a potential attack and terminate it before it might make an impact.”

The collaboration of Managed DRP and Managed Threat Complete is a significant enhancement to Rapid7's service provision. Positioned at the intersection of attack surface management (ASM) and detection and response (D&R), this union facilitates an all-encompassing and 360-degree view of the attack surface. Clients are empowered with the context and guidance necessary to anticipate, identify, and address threats with confidence across a range of devices, from their personal laptops to the cloud.

This move affirms Rapid7's commitment to creating a safer digital world, reinforcing the company's strategic focus on simplifying cybersecurity and making it more accessible. Through their comprehensive security solutions, Rapid7 is a pillar of support for over 11,000 global customers, unifying cloud risk management and threat detection and response to minimise attack surfaces and secure the elimination of threats with speed and precision.
