Radware strengthens AI security for top Italian bank

Today

Radware has announced it is expanding its AI-driven application and network protection services for one of the top five banks in Italy.

The financial institution will bolster its cyber defences by deploying Radware's comprehensive suite of network and application security as well as application delivery solutions.

These include Radware's Cloud Application Protection, Cloud DDoS Protection Services, and the Alteon application delivery controller enhanced with a Global Elastic License (GEL).

The bank, which provides private and corporate banking, loans, e-banking, and investment services, has decided to strengthen its cyber security due to increasing capacity requirements and a rise in web DDoS Tsunami attacks. These attacks represent a new, aggressive form of HTTPS Flood targeting web applications and APIs. According to Radware's H1 2024 Global Threat Analysis Report, there was a 265% global increase in Web DDoS attacks during the first half of 2024 compared to the latter part of 2023.

The expanded security measures are also aimed at achieving compliance with the European Union's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

The regulation, which will be enforced from January 17, 2025, mandates financial institutions along with third-party service providers to enhance their cybersecurity and operational processes.

Yoav Gazelle, Radware's Chief Business Officer, commented, "With the race to comply with new regulations and rise in Web DDoS attacks, many financial institutions are under pressure to reassess their cybersecurity frameworks and shore up their security measures. Those who act early will be in the best position to manage these changes and protect their vital services. Radware's AI-driven cloud security solutions are built to strengthen operational resilience and security postures by helping organizations automatically identify, mitigate, and adapt to evolving threats and disruptions."

Radware's Cloud Application Protection Services employ a combination of automation, behavioural-based detection, and 24/7 managed services.

The service provides an extensive application protection solution with minimal false positives through web application firewall (WAF), bot detection and management, API protection, client-side protection, and application-layer DDoS protection.

The Alteon application delivery controller offers comprehensive defence through its embedded WAF, bot management, and API protection capabilities. It protects against diverse threats, including OWASP vulnerabilities, bad bots, zero-day and supply chain attacks, and API assaults. With GEL, companies can instantly allocate application security services across any cloud environment, safeguarding their initial investments.

Radware has been recognised for its contributions to network and application security solutions by various industry analysts, including the Aite-Novarica Group, Gartner, GigaOm, KuppingerCole, and QKS Group.

The company continues to support enterprises worldwide in addressing complex cybersecurity challenges and protecting critical business operations.
