Phosphorus expands into APJ with new leadership appointments

Today

Phosphorus is expanding its operations into the Asia Pacific and Japan region and is appointing a new leadership team to facilitate this growth.

The company has announced Brett Raphael as the Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), alongside Alex Nehmy as the Regional Chief Technology Officer, to address the increasing demand for cybersecurity in the region. Raphael, a former executive at CrowdStrike, Symantec, McAfee, and Dell, brings extensive experience in business growth and sales leadership. Nehmy, previously CISO of BAE Systems Australia, has a history of building cybersecurity capabilities and consulting internationally.

Chris Rouland, Chief Executive Officer, said, "We're expanding our focus to Asia Pacific and Japan, which are experiencing explosive growth in digital transformation and, with that an increase in cyber threats. As the only solution provider that goes beyond discovery to full xIoT visibility, remediation, and monitoring, our mission is to enable APJ organisations to fundamentally reduce the risk of their IoT and OT attack surface. To ensure our success in this important market, we have brought together a stellar team of industry leaders with a proven track record of driving go-to-market strategies and forging new, strategic relationships. I look forward to working with our new executives as they help to accelerate our next phase of growth."

Phosphorus aims to address the cybersecurity needs in APJ, which is driven by 30 billion interconnected devices. This includes critical industries like healthcare, energy, utilities, and manufacturing, which face a significant security challenge due to a broad attack surface. The expansion into APJ has been identified as a global priority for the company.

Brett Raphael commented, "The surge of xIoT devices has brought significant cyber risks to organisations throughout the APJ region. The Phosphorus platform brings unique value and cutting-edge technologies that enable organisations to find, fix, and manage vulnerabilities in every IoT, OT, and IoMT device. I am honoured to lead Phosphorus' APJ team as we fill in the cybersecurity gaps for the region's most critical industries. We will augment Phosphorus' success by providing new customers with the solutions they need to secure and manage all their xIoT assets."

Mike Sullivan, President of Worldwide Field Operations, expressed confidence in the new appointments. "Our expansion into APJ and selecting a new team were made through a deliberate process to best support our growth," he stated. "I am thrilled to welcome these proven leaders, as their skill sets, accomplishments, and industry knowledge are perfectly aligned with our strategic goals. Together, we will drive and deliver best-in-class solutions and customer service to organisations throughout the territory."

The company's Gartner-recognised Unified xIoT Security Management Platform is described as a comprehensive solution capable of communicating with over one million device models from over 600 vendors. This platform is designed to help organisations discover, harden, remediate, and manage IoT/OT/IoMT devices, addressing risks such as default credentials, outdated firmware, and risky configurations.
