N-able has been named a Champion in Omdia's Global Managed Backup and Disaster Recovery Leadership Matrix for the third consecutive year.
The recognition focuses on N-able's Cove Data Protection product and its recently integrated Disaster Recovery as a Service offering. The service is designed to help customers recover from cyber incidents and site failures through a co-managed model, rather than requiring them to build their own disaster recovery environments.
Managed backup and disaster recovery have become a bigger focus for technology suppliers and service providers as companies face growing pressure to restore systems after attacks and outages. Omdia estimates the managed services segment, including Backup as a Service and Disaster Recovery as a Service, will reach about USD $38 billion in 2026 and grow by more than 16%.
Cove Data Protection is aimed at reducing downtime and protecting systems and data after cyberattacks, outages and other disruptions. N-able has updated the product across backup, recovery testing, security and disaster recovery. Its latest addition allows production workloads to be mirrored in a cloud-hosted environment run by N-able.
That setup is intended to support faster failover and help customers keep operating during an incident. The co-managed approach also reflects a broader market trend, with businesses seeking outside support for recovery operations that can be expensive and difficult to maintain internally.
The latest Omdia ranking follows another recent placement for N-able in the analyst firm's market assessments. Earlier this year, it also secured a third straight Champion position in Omdia's RMM and PSA Leadership Matrix.
Cyber recovery
N-able positioned the latest ranking against rising concern over cyber recovery, which has moved beyond technical teams and into boardroom discussions. Businesses are under pressure to protect critical data, shorten recovery times and maintain continuity when attacks disrupt normal operations.
That shift has pushed backup suppliers beyond storing copies of data and toward tools that support testing, failover and operational recovery. Disaster recovery services have become a key area of competition as customers look for ways to restore business systems without the cost of maintaining duplicate infrastructure.
N-able operates in this part of the market through a partner-focused model and says it serves more than 500,000 organisations worldwide. The company describes its broader business as cybersecurity-focused, with products intended to help customers and managed service providers manage operational and security risks.
