Motorola Solutions acquires Rave Mobile Safety
Fri, 16th Dec 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Motorola Solutions has announced it has acquired Rave Mobile Safety, a company that specialises in mass notification and incident management and helps organisations and public safety agencies communicate and collaborate during emergencies.

Many different sectors and industries, including state, local government enterprises and hospitals, rely on Rave's cloud-native, customisable platform to support emergency coordination.

Using the company's technology, these organisations can effectively communicate operational updates and alerts, such as health emergencies, lockdowns and evacuations, so people are better informed to take appropriate action.

The platform also encompasses education, with many K-12 schools and higher education institutions across the U.S. using Rave's panic button solution.

This solution can immediately provide real-time incident details and essential data like location to 9-1-1 call takers and first responders, and its incident management solution helps to coordinate the emergency response across school safety personnel, administrators and first responders.

Greg Brown, Chairman and CEO, Motorola Solutions, says that the company's experience and technology can significantly help promote safe outcomes.

"Motorola Solutions' technologies strengthen the critical intersection of public safety and personal security," he says.

"Our acquisition of Rave complements our portfolio with a platform specifically designed to help individuals, businesses and public safety agencies work together in more powerful ways."

The Rave platform will be integrated into Motorola Solutions' technology portfolio, which the company says includes access control, video security, body-worn cameras, critical communications, command centre software and weapons detection solutions.

"Rave and Motorola Solutions share a deep understanding of communication and collaboration workflows for customers, including the essential role of mobile technology, when addressing complex and evolving safety challenges," says Todd Piett, CEO, Rave Mobile Safety.

"We're excited to extend our reach and impact as we join a global leader in public safety and enterprise security."

Motorola Solutions provides solutions that enhance public safety and enterprise security. The company works across land mobile radio communications, video security & access control and command centre software.

Bolstered by managed & support services, this creates an integrated technology ecosystem to help make communities safer, and businesses stay productive and secure.

The company says it looks to usher in a new era of public safety and security.

Earlier this month, Motorola Solutions delivered a new online portal for Crime Stoppers Tasmania. This new technology was created to help Tasmanian citizens quickly and safely share crime-related information with the police.

The company also won two major awards at Australia's peak international design awards, Good Design Australia.
