Mako boosts defence against cyber attacks with Radware's protection services
Mako, a leading Israeli entertainment portal, has chosen Radware to bolster its defence against high-volume, multi-vector hacktivist attacks. Mako, among the country's top three most visited sites, and N12.co.il are significant media and online news components of Israel's media entity, Keshet Media Group.
Mako's IT ops and SEC ops manager, Elad Bublil, said Mako's choice of Radware's next-generation application protection services was driven by its commitment to innovation and a management system that offers detailed insights into traffic to the media website. He stressed the importance of prompt, accurate detection and a swift response time when under attack, indicating that Radware's customised signature creation helps combat evolving threats without adversely affecting legitimate traffic.
Yoav Gazelle, Radware's chief business officer, noted that traditional mitigation tools based on pre-existing signatures or rate-based detections aren't sufficiently resilient to protect against randomised, tsunami-size Web DDoS attacks. Without a behavioural-based strategy and automatic real-time signatures, standard protections become overwhelmed and outmanoeuvred, leading to business vulnerability, he said.
Bublil elaborated on Mako's need for adaptable security measures capable of handling large volumes and avoiding false positives while not obstructing valid traffic. He believes this can be achieved through Radware's behavioural-based approach to application protection.
In its continued commitment to cyber security, Mako opted for Radware's holistic Cloud Application Protection Services, featuring their recently released Cloud Web DDoS Protection. Proprietary behavioural analyses and real-time signature generation facilitate immediate HTTPS flood detection, including layer 7 Web DDoS Tsunamis, and allow for continuous mitigation adaptation to avert service interruptions.
The Cloud Application Protection Services offered by Radware cover a broad range of application protection, including their industry-leading web application firewall (WAF), bot detection and management, API protection, client-side protection, and application-layer DDoS protection. Comprising end-to-end automation, behavioural-based detection, and round-the-clock managed services, Radware's solution aims to deliver optimal application protection with minimal occurrence of false positives.
