Keeper Security partners with Macnica to boost password safety in Japan

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Keeper Security has appointed Macnica as a distributor of its enterprise password management platform in Japan. The agreement allows Macnica to offer Keeper Security's solutions to its enterprise customer base, targeting increasing threats around credential theft and identity management.

Market context

Japanese organisations are expanding their digital infrastructure, moving from strictly on-premises systems to a mix of cloud, SaaS, and hybrid IT. Securing access to this diverse ecosystem has emerged as a priority for IT leaders. The majority of these systems still rely on passwords, exposing organisations to risks if credentials are weak, reused, or stolen. At the same time, infostealer malware is targeting companies by capturing locally stored passwords, fuelling concerns about traditional password management practices. Many companies are taking steps to move from ad hoc, individual password management to centralised solutions.

Security approach

Keeper Security's platform provides a zero-trust model and zero-knowledge encryption. Yamato Kobayashi, President of Macnica Networks, said the priority is now on protecting authentication credentials.

"As cyber threats surrounding enterprises continue to grow in sophistication, proper management of authentication credentials has become a critical foundation of modern security strategies. Keeper, built on the principles of zero trust, delivers both robust security and operational simplicity. Through our partnership with Keeper, Macnica will leverage our decades of experience in cybersecurity, along with our sales and implementation expertise, to help Japanese organizations strengthen practical identity protection at every level," said Yusuke Kobayashi, President of Macnica Networks Corp.

The solution allows organisations to centralise storage of credentials and automate password management. Keeper Security is designed to generate, store, and fill strong passwords without storing any sensitive data in plaintext format or on users' local devices. This approach aims to limit the impact of malware designed to steal credentials.

Integration and compliance

The Keeper platform integrates with security tools such as SSO, multi-factor authentication, and security information and event management systems. Organisations can centralise access policy management and streamline compliance processes, including regulatory and audit requirements.

The software can be deployed either as a standalone solution or as part of Macnica's broader suite, which covers endpoint detection, SaaS management, and other security controls.

Expansion strategy

Keeper Security is focusing on expanding partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region, where demand for identity management and privileged access management is rising. Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder at Keeper Security, sees identity controls as key to protecting company assets as digital infrastructure grows.

"As organizations modernize and expand their digital infrastructure, identity and privilege have become central to cybersecurity strategy," said Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder of Keeper Security. "Keeper's zero-trust platform unifies password, secrets and privileged access management in a single, intuitive solution. By partnering with Macnica, we're helping enterprises across Japan strengthen control over critical systems and data, improve visibility and reduce the risk of credential compromise."

Focus on Japan

Takanori Nishiyama, Senior Vice President, APAC Sales and Japan Country Manager at Keeper Security, highlighted local digital transformation and the growing need to secure access to systems of every size.

"We are delighted to partner with Macnica to bring Keeper's zero-trust and zero-knowledge password management solution to more organizations across Japan," said Nishiyama. "As Japanese enterprises continue their digital transformation journeys, securing identities and access has never been more critical. Together with Macnica's deep expertise in cybersecurity and extensive market reach, we aim to help organizations of all sizes strengthen their defenses against credential theft and data breaches while improving operational efficiency."
