Kaspersky tops 2024 security tests with record 97% TOP3 rate

Kaspersky has achieved first place in 91 out of 95 independent tests and reviews it participated in throughout 2024, also recording a 97% rate for TOP3 finishes according to the latest results.

The company's products were assessed by several independent organisations, including AV-Comparatives, AV-TEST, and SE Labs, with the TOP3 metric serving as an index reflecting how successful a vendor has been in independent comparative tests within a calendar year. The calculation considers the total number of tests a vendor participated in and the number of TOP3 positions achieved, offering a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of cybersecurity solutions for businesses and consumers. Kaspersky broke its own record by achieving a 97% TOP3 score, the highest among all competitors and marking the 12th consecutive year it has secured the leading position in these metrics.

This result means that Kaspersky products have ranked among the top three in nearly every test and review in which they participated over the past year, a performance the company attributes to its ongoing efforts to provide cybersecurity offerings to both the business sector and individual consumers.

During 2024, Kaspersky's consumer and corporate solutions received multiple awards from industrial test organisations. Its flagship consumer product, Kaspersky Standard, which is the primary plan in the company's consumer portfolio, received the "Top-Rated Product" award from AV-Comparatives after participating in seven extensive tests. These assessments encompassed Real-World Protection tests, Performance Tests, Malware Protection Tests, and Advanced Threat Protection Tests, and the product achieved gold, silver, or bronze awards in specific categories.

Kaspersky Premium for Windows was also recognised, finishing as the top-ranked cybersecurity vendor out of fifteen participants in AV-Comparatives' Anti-Phishing Test. The product attained Anti-Phishing Certification, achieving first place in the phishing detection rate while registering zero false positives.

For corporate solutions, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business (KESB) demonstrated a 100% defence rate against LSASS-attacks (Local Security Authority Subsystem Service), passing all fifteen test cases conducted by AV-Comparatives. The product was additionally approved for its protection against process injection attempts. Another enterprise solution, Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert (KEDRE), was acknowledged by AV-Comparatives for a 100% cumulative active response rate and received the "Strategic Leader" title for the third consecutive time.

In the past year, Kaspersky also received nine "BEST 2024" annual awards from AV-TEST. These included the Best Protection and Best Usability Awards for Kaspersky Plus in the consumer category, while Kaspersky Premium was awarded Best MacOS Security. In the business sector, AV-TEST recognised Kaspersky Small Office Security (KSOS) and Endpoint Security for Business for Best Protection, Best Advanced Protection and Best Usability for corporate users.

Kaspersky Plus (which will transition to Kaspersky Premium from Q4 2024), KESB, and KSOS also secured the highest Total Accuracy Rating (TAR) scores in all four quarterly tests administered by SE Labs, achieving the maximum points available. This result represents 100% defence against both general and targeted attacks with no false positives noted. Kaspersky Plus also received the Best Home Anti-Malware 2024 Award from SE Labs for its performance.

As the tracking of the TOP3 metric passes its milestone of over 1,000 independent tests since its initiation in 2013, Kaspersky has accumulated a total of 871 TOP3 placements. This figure is reported as the highest among its competitors in the cybersecurity field.
