i-PRO launches Active Guard 2.0, enhances AI integration

Today

i-PRO has announced the release of the latest version of its Active Guard intelligent search application.

Active Guard, which integrates seamlessly with Video Management Systems (VMS) from Milestone and Genetec, provides security operators with essential real-time notifications and enables deep forensic searches from edge-based AI analytics.

According to Gerard Figols, Chief Product Officer at i-PRO, "The Active Guard plugin was developed to seamlessly deliver i-PRO's 98 unique AI attributes captured in our cameras into the industry's leading VMS to make security operators' lives easier." He emphasised that Active Guard 2.0 allows metadata integration from third parties directly into the workflow, strengthening i-PRO's open platform approach.

Version 2.0 introduces several enhancements, notably the integration with Vaxtor and Morpho technologies. Vaxtor, known for high-performance Optical Character Recognition, now supports search filters for OCR Container and OCR Genesis apps, expanding its capabilities beyond license plate recognition to include text from shipping containers, ID cards, and passports. Similarly, Morpho's AI fall-detection analytics can now be transmitted to the VMS through Active Guard.

"This native integration of Vaxtor and Morpho demonstrates i-PRO's commitment to making our edge-AI hardware open to customisation for applications outside of traditional security, collaborating intensely with innovative software development companies in the market," said Figols.

Juan Vercher, CEO of Vaxtor, praised i-PRO's efforts, saying, "Active Guard's evolution enhances the capacities and improves the operational efficiency of all our analytics."

"We deeply value i-PRO's dedication to developing tailored integrations, advancing and enhancing intelligent data management, and bringing significant value to our partners and customers."

Additional features of Active Guard Version 2.0 include timeline search capabilities, enhanced integration with the Genetec and Milestone VMS, and expanded dashboard functionalities. Timeline search now enables operators to track persons, vehicles, or objects across multiple cameras, offering a comprehensive view of their movement over time.

Enhanced graphing tools allow users to count people in various locations and generate aggregated data, which is particularly useful in areas with heavy foot traffic.

Unlike many systems that rely on server-based analytics, i-PRO's approach processes AI-enabled analytics at the edge, within the camera itself. This method optimises processing power and bandwidth, reducing the need for additional server hardware and enhancing the accuracy of data analysis.

Active Guard is described as a video protection application that processes and transfers data generated by cameras to a VMS, focusing on metadata transfer rather than the entire video stream. This integration provides a unified user experience within the VMS for visualising and searching for unique data attributes.

Beyond traditional security applications, Active Guard offers data-driven intelligence for companies looking to utilise cameras as IoT sensors.

This can aid in monitoring operational efficiency and compliance, delivering significant value in various corporate and industrial settings.
