HPE integrates EdgeConnect into Mist & Aruba Central
Wed, 28th Oct 2026 (Today)
HPE has integrated HPE Networking EdgeConnect with its HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central network management platforms, bringing its Secure Access Service Edge offering into the same management framework as its wired and wireless networking products.
The integration lets customers manage wired, wireless and security networks through a single interface. It is aimed at organisations running networks across offices, branch sites and cloud environments, where separate networking and security tools can make fault-finding more difficult.
Customers using EdgeConnect will gain access to HPE Marvis, the company's artificial intelligence engine and assistant. The system is designed to identify network problems automatically, take corrective action in some cases and flag likely issues affecting applications such as Zoom and Teams.
Existing users of HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central will also be able to use secure connectivity functions through the integrated set-up, including application-aware routing, WAN optimisation, integrated security and Security Service Edge integration.
Customers deploying HPE's wired, wireless and SASE products together will get an end-to-end view of their networks. The combined set-up can be deployed on premises, in the cloud or in a virtual private cloud.
Network operations
The announcement reflects a wider shift in enterprise networking as companies try to simplify the management of systems spread across campuses, branches, wide area networks and cloud services. As more applications and connected devices operate across those environments, network and security teams are under pressure to monitor performance and security with fewer manual processes.
David Hughes, Senior Vice President and General Manager, SASE and Security for Networking at HPE, said growing enterprise network complexity had made isolated management tools harder to justify.
"Enterprise networks have become too complex to manage through isolated tools and domains," Hughes said.
"By bringing HPE Networking EdgeConnect together with HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central, we're combining our best AI, wired, wireless and SASE innovations into a single operational experience that gives customers greater visibility, automated protection, faster issue resolution and a clear path to self-driving operations," he added.
EdgeConnect is HPE's unified SASE product, combining software-defined wide area networking with cloud-delivered security services. The product is intended to connect branch offices and remote workers to applications while maintaining security controls and network resilience.
Analyst view
Industry analysts said the integration fits a broader trend towards combining networking and security management into a single operating model.
"HPE Networking is becoming an increasingly important driver of HPE's growth strategy and a connective layer for the AI-ready enterprise," said Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst and Founder, Liberte Research Group.
"HPE Marvis is expanding as a common intelligence layer, while HPE works to bring together the strengths of HPE Mist, HPE Aruba Central and the broader Juniper portfolio without forcing customers into disruptive migrations," he added.
Another analyst said the combination of SASE, wired and wireless management reflected changing requirements in enterprise infrastructure.
"The convergence of SASE, wired and wireless LAN under a unified agentic model is a logical and necessary evolution for enterprise networking," said Zeus Kerravala, Founder and Principal Analyst, ZK Research.
"HPE's move to bring EdgeConnect into Mist and Aruba Central isn't just about consolidation - it's about giving enterprises the proactive, self-driving capabilities needed to protect performance and user experience across edge-to-cloud environments," he added.
HPE Mist will be available for HPE Networking EdgeConnect during CY26, while HPE Aruba Central support for EdgeConnect is due in the first half of CY27.
