Hornetsecurity, Vade merge to advance European cybersecurity

A significant development in the European cybersecurity landscape was announced this week with the merger of German firm Hornetsecurity and French leader in email cybersecurity, Vade. This partnership stands to bolster Europe's cybersecurity portfolio, posed to provide unparalleled security offerings for customers, particularly those interested in protecting their data sovereignty.

Hanover’s Hornetsecurity is a well-regarded provider of cloud security and compliance solutions, particularly notable for its services securing Microsoft 365. Vade, based in Hem, France, analyses over 2.5 billion messages daily and has gained recognition for its high efficacy, SaaS-based email security offering for Microsoft 365. The merger will lead to a fuller product offering and strengthen their position as indispensable providers of cloud-based cybersecurity services globally.

Vade is a global cybersecurity company that secures human collaboration with a combination of AI and human-powered detection and response. Vades products and solutions protect consumers, businesses, and organisations from email-borne cyberattacks, including malware/ransomware, spear phishing/business email compromise, and phishing. 

Vade is a fast-growing, channel-first company with a growing network of MSP and MSSP partners, as well as distribution agreements with leading distributors and aggregators in North America, EMEA, and Asia. Founded in 2009, Vade serves the ISP, SMB, and MSP markets with products and solutions that help increase cybersecurity and maximise IT efficiency.

In 2024, additional products will become available, provided via Vade's data center. Thanks to Vade's strong and comprehensive channel network, MSPs and resellers will be able to present attractive product combinations to the French market, including the comprehensive 365 Total Protection service that covers a broad range of an organisations Microsoft 365 security, compliance management and data protection needs.

Daniel Blank, Hornetsecurity's COO, highlighted the firms' alignment in values and commitment to safeguarding global organizations. "We also both adopt a channel-first approach. We look forward to working with the Vade team in this exciting new chapter," he said. Georges Lotigier, Vade's CEO, reflected this enthusiasm and announced Vade's leadership team's assumption of different management positions at Hornetsecurity, with Lotigier becoming a member of the Hornetsecurity supervisory board.

The deal aligns with Hornetsecurity’s expansion strategy and aim to establish itself as a leading international cloud security and compliance software champion, backed by three leading software and growth investment firms: PSG Equity, TA Associates, and Verdane.
