HashKey Exchange has launched a new crypto trading app that combines its HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global applications into a single platform. It gives users one entry point to several regulated markets.

The product uses what HashKey calls a multi-site unification model, allowing users to manage compliant accounts for Hong Kong, global, Singapore and Middle East services within the same app, subject to local eligibility checks based on KYC and KYB credentials.

Licenced crypto exchanges have often run separate regional services because rules differ across jurisdictions. HashKey's new structure keeps a single front end for users while maintaining local controls and restrictions behind the scenes. Access to specific features is limited by market and user status.

The launch marks a product shift for the Hong Kong-listed digital asset group as it works to connect its operations more closely across Asian and international markets. HashKey described the move as an operational step in its Asia Connect strategy.

Regional services

Services in the app vary by market. In Hong Kong, the exchange focuses on spot trading and over-the-counter trading, with fiat on- and off-ramps for four currencies and about 40 digital assets.

The Hong Kong business also includes a wealth management section covering tokenised assets and on-chain financial products for both retail users and Professional Investors.

Singapore focuses on OTC block trading and supports same-name virtual accounts. HashKey said minimum OTC orders start at USD $10, while single transactions can reach USD $50 million for corporate clients and USD $8 million for individual clients across 21 cryptocurrencies.

In the Middle East, the platform offers spot trading and brokerage services. HashKey Global, meanwhile, targets derivatives trading for international users in markets where such activity is permitted, with restricted jurisdictions kept separate.

Compliance focus

HashKey framed the app around unified access with local compliance. The approach reflects a core commercial and regulatory challenge in digital assets: expanding reach while staying within distinct licensing rules in each market.

Users in unauthorised countries or regions will not be able to access restricted features. HashKey added that service scope at each site has been standardised to reflect local licensing qualifications.

Hash Blockchain, which operates HashKey Exchange, is among the first licensed retail virtual asset exchanges in Hong Kong, according to the company. It holds Type 1 and Type 7 licences under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, as well as a Virtual Asset Service Provider licence under the city's anti-money laundering regime.

The operator also said it has obtained ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications for information security and data privacy management systems.

Product additions

Alongside the merger of the two apps, the new platform includes a Web3 wallet service portal that is separate from the centralised exchange operation. HashKey said this is intended to give users a route into on-chain services while keeping that function isolated from exchange activity.

HashKey also said the app includes cybersecurity protections linked to its multi-jurisdiction licensing structure and that it maintains digital asset insurance coverage. It did not disclose the size of that cover in the announcement.

The rollout comes as crypto groups in Asia and the Middle East continue to build regulated businesses around spot trading, brokerage, derivatives and tokenised products, while trying to offer a simpler user experience than the fragmented regional models that characterised earlier phases of the industry.

Users can now download one application instead of using separate regional apps, with access determined by local regulatory requirements and account credentials.
