Fortinet achieves 400 integrations of Open Fabric Ecosystem

Thu, 18th Mar 2021
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fortinet's Security Fabric has now achieved more than 400 technology integrations through its end-to-end security Open Fabric ecosystem.

Fortinet EVP of products and CMO John Maddison says that the ecosystem aims to improve security, reduce complexity, and simplify operations. This, he says, results in comprehensive attack surface protection and greater ROI.

This ecosystem extends Fortinet's Security Fabric and offers:

Fabric Connectors, which are integrations with technology partner platforms that automate operations, policies, and processes;

Fabric APIs, which are partner-developed Fabric API integrations for a broad range of ecosystem solutions to secure the entire digital attack surface;

Fabric DevOps, which is a community-driven set of security automation and orchestration tools and scripts developed by Fortinet, partners, and customers;

Extended Fabric Ecosystem, which enables threat intelligence sharing partnerships and other vendor technology integrations.

The 400 integrations were completed through Fortinet's Fabric-Ready Partner Program, in which partners offer pre-validated security and visibility solutions.

A number of new partners joined the program last year, including Arm, NVIDIA, Dragos, Megaport, PacketFabric, RingCentral, Darktrace, and PowerDMARC.

"The Open Fabric Ecosystem and integration with Fortinet technology is a valuable step toward dramatically improving visibility and response across industrial networks. Through combining Fortinet and Dragos technology we can offer customers increased visibility and response into IT and OT threats to the enterprise, eliminating potential cybersecurity blind spots," comments Dragos VP of product, Chris Carlson.

Fortinet has also expanded its Engage Partner Program, with added consumption models for Fortinet products such as FortiSIEM, FortiEDR, FortiClient, FortiSOAR, FortiAI and FortiDeceptor.

Cloud partners can also leverage additional ways to take Fortinet Adaptive Cloud Security offerings to market, while managed cloud service provider partners are eligible for the Engage Select Cloud Business Model.

Fortinet is introducing new Specialisations focused on high growth areas with additions including zero trust access, operational technology and security operations, enabling partners to hone their expertise.

Fortinet's NSE training courses and eight-level Certification Program, which are free to all Fortinet partners, have been updated allowing partners to meet more compliance requirements.

"Our partnerships go beyond the technologies that enable service offerings that drive growth and profitability. We've received outstanding feedback about the partner program to date and want to continue enhancing it to meet customers' evolving needs as well as digital innovations. Today we are announcing updates that will help our partners to further reap benefits from the Engage Partner Program and to set themselves apart with customers," says Maddison.
