ExpressVPN launches dedicated IP service with privacy focus
ExpressVPN has announced the launch of its dedicated IP solution, which provides users with a unique and static IP address while maintaining privacy.
As more individuals seek improved privacy and control over their online activities, ExpressVPN aims to cater to these demands with its dedicated IP offering. This solution is particularly useful for remote workers requiring access to work resources or for users seeking an uninterrupted browsing experience, ensuring smooth operations or access to IP address-sensitive sites.
ExpressVPN emphasises that the dedicated IP solution is untraceable by both third parties and the company itself. "Many of our users have requested the option of having a dedicated IP, and we're glad to have developed a unique engineering solution to address the privacy concerns around traditional implementations of dedicated IP," said Samuel Bultez, Head of Product at ExpressVPN.
Bultez added, "Our innovative approach to dedicated IP delivers all the benefits of a static IP address while preserving every user's privacy and security—even ExpressVPN cannot trace the dedicated IP back to the individual."
The company has released a technical white paper detailing the engineering design of its dedicated IP solution. This paper aims to enhance trust and transparency regarding the solution's development.
Pete Membrey, Chief Research Officer at ExpressVPN, stated, "We invested the necessary time and resources to develop our dedicated IP solution, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security and innovation. With the release of our white paper, we've gone a step further to document this process, providing an in-depth look at our technical architecture, security measures, and privacy safeguards for full transparency. This feature exemplifies our commitment to privacy by design, and it's a foundational step towards the zero-trust approach we aim to apply across our entire product line."
The dedicated IP solution allows users to reduce encounters with CAPTCHAs and own their online reputation with a unique IP address. The service supports seamless integration into the ExpressVPN app interface, making installation and setup straightforward.
ExpressVPN is gradually rolling out the dedicated IP service, which is currently available on Android, iOS, and Windows platforms, with more platforms to follow. The service spans 29 IP locations across 22 countries, including key locations in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South Africa.
ExpressVPN's dedicated IP pricing starts at GBP £2.76 per month, depending on the subscription length, and offers users the choice to switch between dedicated and shared IP options based on their needs.
"As a privacy-focused company, our vision is to offer a dedicated IP service that addresses any security concerns typically associated with traditional implementations. With our groundbreaking engineering solution at the heart of this innovation, we are thrilled to introduce ExpressVPN's dedicated IP to all users today, and set a new industry standard for privacy-preserving dedicated IP services," expressed Bultez.
