Eversheds Sutherland appoints Albert Yuen to lead Asia tech
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Albert Yuen to head its Technology, Data and Cybersecurity practice in Asia. Yuen joins the firm following 25 years of experience in the technology, media and telecommunications legal sector across the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.
Leadership appointment
Yuen's most recent position was with Linklaters as Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications for Hong Kong, where he was responsible for developing the firm's TMT practice and advising on major mandates, both regional and global. He has also worked in senior roles at Osborne Clarke, Gilbert + Tobin, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and O'Melveny & Myers. His expertise has been further enhanced through industry secondments with telecommunications companies in Asia and Australia.
Yuen's client work covers a broad spectrum of the technology sector, including complex technology and telecom transactions, digital infrastructure projects, fintech, data privacy, cybersecurity, commercial intellectual property, and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. He has advised on cross-border cloud and outsourcing projects as well as large-scale digital infrastructure projects involving data centres, towers, and fibre networks.

Throughout his career, Yuen has worked with global and regional companies operating in highly regulated sectors. He has experience addressing regulatory matters such as data protection, AI governance, cybersecurity, and technology risk management. He is independently recognised by legal directories Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in technology and data protection.
