Ekco launches complete cybersecurity for smaller firms

Yesterday

Ekco has launched Cyber Defence Complete, a cybersecurity service designed to provide small and mid-sized businesses with protection comparable to that available to large enterprises.

The service incorporates essential security tools from vendors such as Microsoft, CrowdStrike, and Recorded Future, aiming to streamline integration and offer comprehensive protection for businesses that may not have the resources for specialised in-house cybersecurity teams.

Statistics from 2024 indicate that cyberattacks continue to pose a significant challenge for smaller businesses. Over half (58%) of small businesses and 70% of mid-sized businesses reported experiencing a cyber breach, with one in five affected firms deeming the impact severe enough to threaten the continued viability of their business.

Ekco's Cyber Defence Complete integrates a range of security capabilities, including Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR), incident response, threat intelligence, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). These elements are delivered through a unified solution built on CREST-accredited methodologies, intended to provide protection around the clock without requiring substantial infrastructure changes from customers.

The managed service is available in two packages. The Standard option aims to enable customers to proactively address cyber threats through a set of defensive capabilities, while the Premium offering includes all standard features plus additional enhancements designed to support stronger cyber resilience.

Ekco is making the service available through flexible, tiered models that allow for adjustment as businesses evolve, aiming to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity both accessible and scalable for the SMB segment.

Lee Driver, Director of Cybersecurity at Ekco, said: "Small and medium-sized businesses face diverse cybersecurity challenges, and in today's threat landscape, fast, decisive action is critical. This is why we've launched Cyber Defence Complete - a comprehensive solution that removes uncertainty and complexity from cybersecurity for SMBs. Right from the outset, our package establishes a robust defensive foundation, encompassing threat detection, active monitoring, rapid incident response, and mitigation capabilities."

"Our flexible, tiered approach ensures businesses receive exactly the level of protection they need, scaling seamlessly as they expand and mature. With Cyber Defence Complete, we're committed to levelling the cybersecurity playing field, empowering SMBs with enterprise-grade defence underpinned by expert support, so they can confidently focus on growing their businesses without the fear of cyber threats."

The release of this service comes as an increasing number of SMBs seek external expertise to address cybersecurity concerns, with resource constraints making it difficult for many firms to establish internal specialist teams. By consolidating multiple industry-recognised tools into a single offering, Ekco aims to simplify the adoption of advanced security processes for SMBs and reduce the operational complexity often associated with cybersecurity management.

This move also provides SMBs access to technologies and methods that would otherwise require extensive internal investment or outsourcing through multiple vendors, supporting a proactive approach to defending against emerging threats in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
