Blackpoint Cyber launches CompassOne for security management

Yesterday

Blackpoint Cyber today introduced CompassOne, a new Unified Security Posture and Response platform, aimed at tackling one of the cybersecurity industry's biggest challenges: the fragmentation of security tools.

Unveiled at RSAC 2025 and Kaseya Connect 2025, CompassOne is designed to give organisations control over their entire cybersecurity posture, spanning visibility, prevention, response, and recovery.

"Security teams don't have time to stitch together fragmented tools and dashboards," said Jon Murchison, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Blackpoint Cyber. "CompassOne simplifies cybersecurity by providing complete visibility, rapid response, and a fully managed approach, all in a single, cost-effective solution. No more tool sprawl. No more wasted time. No more reactive security."

CompassOne was recently recognised as the Most Innovative Unified Security Posture in the Global InfoSec 2025 Awards. It combines Blackpoint Cyber's experience defending against real-world threats with a unified platform that offers complete visibility across an organisation's attack surface, as well as guided prioritisation and expert-driven insights to enhance and measure security maturity over time.

"With CompassOne, we're redefining what it means to truly secure every moment," said Manoj Srivastava, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Blackpoint Cyber. "By unifying proactive hardening and real-time response, CompassOne helps organisations measure, prioritise, and strengthen their security posture over time—with holistic visibility and context, a focus on what matters most, and all from a single platform. It's the culmination of everything we've learned fighting real-world threats, built to help our customers stay ahead of the adversary and take control of their security posture like never before."

The new platform consolidates multiple critical cybersecurity functions into one system, which the company says helps reduce the proliferation of tools, lowers costs, and saves operational time.

CompassOne's capabilities include a Security Posture Rating that uses a letter-grade system based on established frameworks to track cybersecurity maturity and compliance progress over time. It also offers Unified Asset Inventory to provide full visibility across devices, identities, cloud, and SaaS environments.

Other features include Tenant Administrator for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT teams, enabling oversight of clients, tracking of renewals, management of billing, and immediate response to security issues. CompassOne also integrates Managed Detection and Response (MDR) through Blackpoint's 24/7 Security Operations Centre, offering what the company claims to be the fastest threat detection and response service available.

Additional features are Vulnerability Management to identify and remediate critical risks, Managed Application Control to block unauthorised software and prevent exploits, and Cloud Posture Management to monitor and correct security misconfigurations in Microsoft 365 environments.

The platform also includes LogIC (Logging with Integrated Compliance), designed to streamline compliance processes by automatically capturing, storing, and analysing security logs.

Industry experts have voiced support for Blackpoint's integrated approach. Craig Robinson, Research Vice President, Security Services at IDC, said: "The convergence of posture management and incident response represents the next evolution in cybersecurity architecture. Organisations can no longer afford to maintain artificial boundaries between prevention and response – they must operate as a continuous, integrated cycle. Platforms that successfully unify these capabilities are positioned to deliver significant advantages in operational efficiency and security outcomes in today's resource-constrained environment."

Jessica Davis, Principal Analyst, MSPs at Canalys, added: "Managed service providers are a first line of defence against cyberthreats. The growing number of disconnected point products can actually increase cyber risk by creating complexity and visibility gaps. Many organisations are now prioritising platform consolidation to improve efficiency and resilience. While managed detection and response (MDR) continues to see strong growth—Canalys forecasts a 16% increase in 2025—MSPs are also considering broader solutions that support the entire security lifecycle."

Blackpoint Cyber, founded by former NSA cybersecurity experts and staffed by industry professionals, focuses on proactive and real-time threat management, leveraging a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Centre to act on threats, rather than merely reporting them. The company's new CompassOne platform aims to bring that same approach to a broader cybersecurity audience, emphasising simplicity, visibility, and unified protection.
