Bill O'Connell appointed Chief Security Officer at Commvault

Bill O'Connell has been appointed as the Chief Security Officer of Commvault, a company focused on cyber resilience and data protection for the hybrid cloud.

O'Connell brings with him nearly two decades of experience in the fields of cybersecurity, risk, and data privacy. He has previously held leadership positions at Roche and ADP, where he was responsible for directing significant security initiatives.

Speaking about his new role, O'Connell remarked, "Commvault is at the forefront of delivering industry-leading cyber resilience to enterprises worldwide. During his most recent tenure at Roche, O'Connell oversaw technical, operational, and strategic programs designed to safeguard critical data and infrastructure. His earlier career at ADP saw him taking charge of all application, software, and product security on a global scale.

Commvault's President and CEO, Sanjay Mirchandani, commented on O'Connell's appointment by saying, "Bill's vast experience in cyber, product security, data privacy, and incident response will significantly advance our expertise as a cyber resilience leader. O'Connell is an alumnus of the University of Maryland and holds Bachelor's and MBA degrees, in addition to a graduate certificate in Cyber Security Policy. His contributions to the field extend beyond his professional roles as he has previously served as Chair of the National Cyber Security Alliance Board of Directors. He continues to be actively engaged in various industry working groups that concentrate on threat intelligence and privacy.
