Beyond Identity unveils Secure Access Platform for better security

Wed, 22nd May 2024

Beyond Identity, a provider of passwordless, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA), has introduced the Secure Access Platform, marking an advancement in the realm of access security. The new platform is designed to combat the growing threat of credential and access-based attacks, an increasingly pressing issue highlighted by recent breaches involving well-known companies such as Okta and Microsoft.

The Secure Access Platform aims to serve as either a standalone alternative or an enhancement to existing Single-Sign-On (SSO) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools, which have shown vulnerabilities in recent high-profile incidents. This innovative solution integrates passwordless MFA with enhanced SSO and risk detection capabilities, offering organisations a more robust security posture.

"We have seen the vulnerability of legacy access management platforms in a series of terrible incidents concerning Okta, and with the recent CISA CSRB report stating major concerns with Microsoft’s identity management system, as it played a critical role in China’s attack on Microsoft cloud email services," stated Jasson Casey, CEO of Beyond Identity. "This challenging security environment demands a comprehensive disruption of workforce access management and highlights the necessity for organisations to implement identity and access management tools that are inherently secure."

The Secure Access Platform is characterised by several key features designed to meet modern security needs. It includes secure SSO optimised for zero-trust architectures, offering a simple and secure passwordless user experience. Continuous authentication ensures that user and device security compliance is validated not only during initial authentication but also throughout active sessions, addressing ongoing risk assessments in real time.

Additionally, the platform’s passwordless, phish-resistant MFA promises to eliminate the threat posed by phishing attacks, even if users and administrators inadvertently click on malicious links. Device posture assurance provides visibility and control over security across all devices, including those that are unmanaged, reinforcing defences against external threats.

Beyond Identity’s platform also boasts a robust integration ecosystem, allowing organisations to maximise their existing security investments by using all available risk signals for making access decisions. This capacity to shift security to the left—integrating detection and response into preventative strategies—emphasises a proactive, rather than reactive, approach to security.

To experience the capabilities of Beyond Identity's Secure Access Platform, the company encourages stakeholders to participate in live demonstrations at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit 2024, scheduled to take place from June 3 to June 5 in National Harbor, MD.

Beyond Identity is recognised for its commitment to advancing access security, serving a diverse clientele that includes Snowflake, Unqork, and Cornell University. The company continues to spearhead the development of solutions that eliminate access risks and support zero-trust security strategies.
