Akamai recognised as leader in Forrester Wave Q3 2024 report

Akamai Technologies has been recognised as a Leader in the Q3 2024 Forrester Wave report on Microsegmentation Solutions. This report evaluated 11 vendors in the microsegmentation domain across 23 criteria grouped under current offerings, strategy, and market presence.

Akamai received the highest possible scores in several critical areas, including flow and asset discovery, policy management, ZTNA integration, incident response, pricing flexibility and transparency, supporting services and offerings, revenue, and number of customers. Forrester specifically highlighted that "Akamai Guardicore shows off true innovation with ZTNA integration and multifactor."

The Forrester report commended today's microsegmentation solutions for their ability to rapidly enhance security postures by blocking risky ports and implementing broad horizontal security policies. "Akamai Guardicore was a Leader in the previous Forrester Wave on microsegmentation as well," noted the report. It emphasised that Akamai has released a steady stream of microsegmentation-related innovations, such as multifactor segmentation and integrations with its parent company's ZTNA solution, DNS firewall, and threat intelligence (Akamai Hunt).

The Akamai Guardicore Platform integrates several security features, enabling Zero Trust through a single agent that encompasses microsegmentation, ZTNA, multi-factor authentication, DNS firewall, and threat hunting. Recently, Akamai updated this platform with improvements aimed at streamlining workflows and enhancing security postures. Notable new features include AI-powered tools designed to simplify user experience, multi-factor segmentation, essential policy for quick implementation of best practice-based policies, and integration of worksites for scoped delegation.
