Acronis launches XDR to enhance MSPs' security offerings
Acronis has unveiled its latest security solution, Acronis XDR. This addition expands upon the company's existing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) offering, promising a robust and comprehensive threat detection and response solution across all endpoints. The introduction of Acronis XDR signifies the company's effort to address the increasing sophistication of cyber threats faced by organisations today.
Acronis XDR is designed for easy deployment, management, and maintenance, specifically catering to managed service providers (MSPs). The new solution integrates cybersecurity, data protection, endpoint management, and automated recovery into a single, highly efficient platform. As cyber criminals utilise artificial intelligence and broaden attack surfaces, businesses find themselves more vulnerable to data breaches and malware. MSPs often grapple with complex and costly tools which fail to provide comprehensive protection. Acronis XDR targets these challenges by offering complete protection without the associated high costs and complexity.
Chris Kissel, Research Vice-President at IDC, remarked on the significance of Acronis's entry into the XDR market, stating, "Acronis has provided an endpoint protection platform for the better part of a year. They have extended their XDR stack mapping alerts to MITRE ATTACK and offer cloud correlation detections. Importantly, their platform supports multitenancy, and the dashboard provides intuitive visualisations."
Acronis XDR boasts several key features and benefits, including native integration across cybersecurity, data protection, and endpoint management. The solution is designed to protect vulnerable attack surfaces and ensure business continuity. It also promises high efficiency with AI-based incident analysis and single-click response capabilities, enabling swift investigations and responses.
Furthermore, the product is built with MSPs in mind, featuring a single agent and console for all services, as well as a customisable platform that allows for the integration of additional tools into a unified technology stack. Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis, highlighted the importance of providing reliable cybersecurity to customers operating within diverse IT environments and constrained budgets. "Acronis XDR enables MSPs to offer top-notch security without the complexity and significant overhead of traditional non-integrated tools," said Magdanurov. He added that the AI-assisted capabilities within the Acronis solution help MSPs deliver top-tier cybersecurity, even if they possess limited cybersecurity expertise.
The launch of Acronis XDR follows the recent release of Acronis MDR, powered by Novacoast. The Acronis MDR service offers advanced endpoint security with native integration of data protection, enhancing business resilience. Coupled with the Acronis EDR solution, it focuses on passive endpoint protection, thereby boosting MSPs' security capabilities without necessitating substantial security resources or investments.
