Versa Networks recognised as SASE, SD-WAN market leader
Wed, 21st Dec 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

650 Group has recognised Versa Networks as a market leader in Deployed Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Enabled SD-WAN.

The market research firm featured Versa Networks in its 3Q22 SASE report and 3Q22 SD-WAN report, stating that the company posted the leading market share for Deployed SASE and Enabled SD-WAN for Q3 2022 worldwide revenue.

Versa has maintained the leading market share in these categories since 2020.

650 Group evaluates more than 12 SD-WAN vendors and double that in the SASE vendor category each quarter to analyse performance.

Each report includes market shares and five-year forecasts with a range of performance metrics.

The company defines Deployed SASE as single-vendor SASE deployed as a suite.

Additionally, Enabled SD-WAN means a customer has purchased and uses SD-WAN functions.

“As a result of Versa’s market performance in Q3, we again recognised them as the quarterly market share leader in both Deployed SASE and Enabled SD-WAN,” says Alan Weckel, Co-Founder and Analyst, 650 Group.

“Our research indicates that enterprises are making SASE a priority for their IT budgets in 2023 with a preference for single-pane offerings.”

Versa Networks provides organically developed best-of-breed functions that tightly integrate and deliver services through the cloud, on-premises, or as a blended combination of both, managed through a single pane of glass.

Further, the company delivers SASE services such as Secure SD-WAN, Next-Generation Firewall, Next-Generation Firewall as a Service, Cloud Network Firewall, Unified Threat Management (UTM) including Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Remote Browser Isolation (RBI), and User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA).

“There has been tremendous customer interest in SASE over the past few years,” says Kelly Ahuja, CEO, Versa Networks.

“Versa’s unique set of comprehensive SASE services has been recognised as leading the industry, and it’s rewarding to see our market leadership validated in these 650 Group reports.

“Our products were architected from inception to tightly integrate the security and networking functionalities that organisations need, which later would make up the SASE market category.

“Versa’s single-stack architecture uniquely delivers the desired functionalities for organisations, as proven by Versa’s continued success.”

Versa Networks recently partnered with SITA to launch SITA Connect Go, a multi-tenant edge Secure SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) solution designed specifically for the air transport industry.

According to a statement from the company, the new partnership combines the best of both companies into a single solution.

SITA has its roots in providing connectivity to the air transport industry and has for decades remained a leader in providing cutting-edge connectivity to airlines and airports.

“IT leaders are struggling to connect and protect their enterprises by using several products for SD-WAN, SWG, ZTNA, CASB, NGFWaaS and DLP,” says Kumar Mehta, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Versa Networks.

“Such a bolt-on approach results in increased complexity and weakened security posture due to use of multiple consoles and inconsistent security and network policies.

“Additionally, it also leads to increased TCO. Versa’s Unified SASE approach provides simplification, improved risk posture and better user experience.

“The industry at large has recognised Versa’s Unified SASE offering, and we are glad to see yet another validation by these 650 Group reports.”
