Former NSW Minister Victor Dominello joins TCA Board
Mon, 22nd May 2023

Wyatt Roy, Executive Director of the Tech Council of Australia (TCA), has announced he will step down from his position on the Board this coming June. Roy's departure marks the end of a tenure praised for considerable service and key achievements in supporting the tech sector.

Chair of the TCA Board, Robyn Denholm, praised Roy's contribution: “The TCA Board thanks Wyatt for his significant service on the Board and in supporting the organisation from inception over the past two years. His expertise, industry knowledge, and insights have delivered several crucial wins for the tech sector.”

Roy's tenure was marked by his unique perspective drawn from his time as a Federal Minister in the Australian Government. His next steps include continuing to champion the tech sector through private and philanthropic initiatives.

Victor Dominello, who recently retired from NSW politics, will succeed Roy. Heralded as a leader in digital technology, Dominello anticipates an active role in the TCA. Roy expressed his enthusiasm for Dominello’s appointment, stating: “I am excited to hand the baton to my friend Victor, who will make an excellent contribution to the Tech Council.”

Dominello, too, embraced the new opportunity with great enthusiasm. “This is an organisation that has gone from zero to hero in just two years. It is leading advocacy in the tech sector and providing a unified voice on critical issues,” he said.

Dominello brings with him a wealth of experience in digital transformation from his 14 years in the NSW Parliament, where he led substantial evolution of Service NSW and its app, which delivered digital solutions like QR check-ins and vaccine certificates during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since retiring, he has joined the Trustworthy Digital Society Hub and become a Professor at UNSW.

Dominello will join former Queensland Minister, the Hon. Kate Jones, on the Board, underscoring the TCA's bipartisan model designed to support the tech sector's broad-based and lasting impact on policy.
